Ethox research on the ethics of medical research
The successful and appropriate translation of medical research into health care practice can
present a wide range of important ethical challenges. If ethical and social issues are not identified,
analysed and sensitively and appropriately addressed as the research progresses, they have the
potential to become significant roadblocks to the successful completion of the research and its
translation into important health benefits. The Ethox Centre has a major research interest in the
ethical issues arising in the day-to-day practice of medical research.
