Community Engagement in Global Health Research in Developing Countries: Is there some Unfinished Business?
This research project aims 1)to investigate the ways CE is conceptualized, understood and practised in the context of socio-behavioural HIV/AIDS prevention research involving the youth in Ghana and South Africa; 2)to explore the impacts of CE on the goals, processes and outcomes of socio-behavioural HIV/AIDS prevention research involving the youth in Ghana and South Africa; and 3)to identify the challenges of engaging communities, particularly the youth in HIV/AIDS socio-behavioural HIV/AIDS prevention research in Ghana and South Africa, and how these challenges are resolved in differing contexts.
