Biography
Karen is developing the University of Oxford’s Fell Fund supported Oxford Bioethics Network.
The aim of the Oxford Bioethics Network is to encourage interdisciplinary research and teaching in bioethics. The network is beginning within the Medical Sciences division of the university but welcomes members of all divisions and disciplines. It brings together individuals working in biosciences with others who have expertise in ethics, law, business and social sciences. The network currently provides courses and resources in research ethics and work with human subjects, and is developing a searchable register of researchers to enable further collaboration in bioethics. Future plans include providing ethics advice for funding applications and regulatory approvals.
Since the network is intended to support research and teaching, Karen is keen to hear what those involved in bioethics would find most useful for their work. Please email direct (karen.melham@ethox.ox.ac.uk), or visit the developing website at http://oxbionet.medsci.ox.ac.uk
