Anne is Director of the Clinical Ethics Support Project at Ethox.  She is also Senior Lecturer in Clinical Ethics at Warwick Medical School where she leads the undergraduate and postgraduate teaching in medical ethics.  Prior to enetering the academic world in 1999 she was a full time principal in General Practice and she still continues to work as a GP on a sessional basis. She has a Masters degree in Medical Ethics and Law from King's College, London and a DPhil from the University of Oxford.   

The Clinical Ethics Support Project  focuses on provision of ethics support for clinicians, managers and other health professionals working in UK health care. This includes development of training for clinical ethics committees, provision of information through the UK Clinical Ethics Network website and liaison with national organisations such as the General Medical Council and other professional organisations.

Anne's main areas of research interest include ethical decision-making in primary care, the role of families in clinical decision-making, evaluation of clinical ethics support, and wider issues such as the concept of public interest in health care research and delivery.

Anne is a member of the Journal of Medical Ethics Advisory Committee, a member of the Editorial Committee of the Clinical Ethics Journal, and is a founder member of the Uk Clinical Ethics Network Committee.  She chairs the ethics committee of the European Respiratory Society  and is currently on the Care Record Development Board Secondary Uses Sub Group, which is considering the ethical and goverrnance framework for access to electronic patient data for uses other than direct patient care.
