Research summary

Matthew Baum is a D.Phil. candidate at Balliol College, University of Oxford. Prior to joining Ethox, Matt completed a bachelors and masters combined degree program in Molecular Biology at Yale University, where he conducted laboratory research on the molecular basis of learning & memory and Fragile X Syndrome. He also earned an M.Sc. in Neuroscience at Trinity College, Dublin, where he investigated cellular models of Schizophrenia. His DPhil thesis work, which will address the use of neuroscience to predict behavior and neuropsychological illness (Bioprediction), is co-supervised by Professor Julian Savulescu (Neuroethics) and Dr Mark Sheehan (Ethox) and is supported by the Rhodes Trust.
