The Ethox Foundation
The Oxford Foundation for Ethics and Communication in Health Care Practice (T/A The Ethox Foundation) is an independent registered charity, set up in
1998. Its object is to improve the quality of health care for the public benefit, in particular by:
- enhancing the ethical and communication skills of the medical, nursing and allied professions
- developing effective ways for organisations concerned with the procurement and delivery of health care to promote high ethical standards
- promoting an understanding and appreciation of the ethical concerns of the general public among all those involved in the provision of health care
Foundation supports the work of the Ethox Centre. It has helped to fund a variety of initiatives in teaching and research, and the establishment of the UK
Clinical Ethics Network and the Oxford Medical Humanities Forum. It also provides some support for the Centre's administrative costs, for international

The Foundation is always keen to support new developments in line with its broad objectives, and is seeking new sources of funding.
